“Sunday recalls the day of Christ's Resurrection. It is Easter which returns week by week, celebrating Christ's victory over sin and death, the fulfillment in him of the first creation and the dawn of ‘the new creation’ (cf. 2 Cor 5:17).”

St. John Paul II reminds us that the true Christian is the one who lives always in the Lord’s Day and is always enjoying the Resurrection. Yet today’s culture has tended to evacuate the Lord’s Day of its meaning, making it, at best, just like any other day, or at worst a day devoted to the many idols we construct for ourselves. And even among those who desire to live the Lord’s Day abundantly, the weight of everyday cares can imbue even Sunday with a deep anxiety.

In Restoring the Lord’s Day, Danny proposes a renewed understanding of the glory of Sunday and why contemporary culture finds it so hard to rest in God’s presence. He has shared this message with schools and parishes around the country, from Harvard Catholic to the University of Dallas to Hillsdale College to St. Patrick’s Church in his native New Orleans.

Whether in a faith formation small group, a book club, a faculty and staff retreat, or a parish mission, Danny is eager to help foster the joy of the Lord’s Day in your organization.
